FOUNDATION STONE LAID FOR "NRB HOSPITAL" IN SYLHET OSMANINAGOR THANA:
A CHARITABLE INITIATIVE BY BARRISTER LUTFUR RAHMAN
In a poignant and heartfelt ceremony today, Barrister Lutfur Rahman took a significant step toward realizing a longstanding dream as he laid the foundation stone for the "NRB Hospital" in Sylhet Osmaninagar Thana along with Distinguished guest from Scottish Parliament Foysol Choudhury, MSP, Member of the Scottish Parliament for Lothian Region, Shadow Minister for Culture, Europe and International Development; Miles Briggs MSP, Evelyn Tweed MSP Farhan Khan, Head of Program, Channel S, (Bangladeshi delegates will be announced later ) This charitable initiative is born out of Barrister Lutfur Rahman's personal experience, having witnessed the tragic consequences of inadequate medical infrastructure when his mother, regrettably, did not receive the quality medical care she deserved and lost her life on the way to the hospital.
The "NRB Hospital" is envisioned to operate as a trustee board, with Barrister Lutfur Rahman and his four grandfathers actively participating as trustee members. The management committee will also include distinguished personalities from the locality, such as Members of Parliament (MPs), opinion leaders, big donors, and senior officials from respective government departments.
Key Features of NRB Hospital:
Global Collaboration: The hospital will be accredited with a top Scottish medical school and college to foster the development of human skills among doctors, nurses, and healthcare professionals. This accreditation will facilitate an exchange program, enabling professionals from Scotland and the United Kingdom to visit Bangladesh and vice versa.
Accessible Healthcare: The primary goal of the project is to ensure quality and affordable healthcare for the people of Sylhet and Bangladesh.
Community Support: Initially, the project will rely on charitable donations from Barrister Lutfur Rahman and his family. Subsequently, it aims to attract donations from international organizations and Non-resident Bangladeshi individuals.
Key Milestones of the Project:
To ensure the hospital's self-sustainability, it will offer free medical services to the poor, subsidized services to those in need, and regular-priced services to the affluent. Barrister Lutfur Rahman expresses his deep gratitude to everyone for their generous support and envisions inaugurating the hospital with the collective backing of the community.
